Dianne Mary Roberts

February 4, 1947 — April 30, 2021

Dianne Mary (LaBrie) Roberts began her journey in 1947 in Pineville, Louisiana. She and her twin sister, Lee Ann, were born to Charlie and Pearl LaBrie.
From an early age, she regularly attended the church with her family. Dianne attended Immaculate Conception School through 11th grade and graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1964.

At 18, she and Lee Ann moved to Compton, California. She worked in various occupations for a few years and on Christmas Day in 1968, she met Harry Roberts. Within less than one year, they were married and ready to embark on the next stage of their lives together.

Their journey began in Carson, California, surrounded by family and friends. Soon, they would expand their own family. Dianne had 2 sons, Chad and Keenan, and the four of them would relocate to Cerritos, California in 1978, where she would live for over 40 years.

Dianne made their house in Cerritos a home for Harry and their boys. She made sure they had a strong sense of self, respected the family and each other, and demanded that they treat everyone how they would like to be treated. She enjoyed cooking for her family – especially gumbo and etouffee, and everyone loved her banana pudding.

As her family grew up, Dianne returned to the workforce and worked as a Data Entry Specialist for 14 years at GTE/Verizon in Los Alamitos, California. In retirement, she returned to making regular visits to church at St. Linus Catholic Church in Norwalk, California.

Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Pearl LaBrie; two brothers Nathaniel and Lionel (Pat); sisters Shirley and Lee Ann; brothers-in-law Simon Ducre and Theodore Simien; and sister-in-law Velma LaBrie.

She leaves behind husband Harry Roberts; sons Chad (Jennifer) and Keenan; grandchildren Nicholas and Alexa; sister Lonie Ducre, brother Eugene LaBrie; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
