Zenaida Poquiz

Zenaida Salinas Poquiz also known as 'Zeny' was born on April 14, 1958 in Malasiqui, Philippines. She passed away on February 5, 2023 in her home surrounded by loved ones after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Zenaida was married to Virgilio Poquiz for 37 years and raised their four children Vincent, Eric, Adner and Vianne Poquiz. She also now has 3 grandchildren Maveric, Luna, and Madison whom she loved so much and cherished spending every moment with.

While in the Philippines, Zenaida always had a passion in helping others and worked as a midwife. In December 2000 her and her family moved to Carson, CA to live a better life. She continued her journey in helping others and worked at Torrance Memorial as a certified nurse assistant for 17 years. While working at Torrance Memorial not only did she help many patients but she also found many friends and helped mentored many of her coworkers. She was known to be the "mom" amongst her work family.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Zenaida had a big and very kind heart, she always thought of everyone else before herself. She also had a passion for cooking which she was very good at. She expressed so much love through her cooking which made her the best the cook. Zenaida made sure to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need and she always made sure that no one would go hungry.

Zenaida loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed the simple things in life that made her happy. She was always a hard worker and always kept a smile on her face no matter how tired she may be. What she also loved doing most was spending time with her grandchildren who loved to call her "Grandmaw."

Zenaida has touched so many people's hearts and will always be loved. She will be remembered and will be missed very dearly.
