Zenaida Lara Arboleda

February 16, 1938 — April 22, 2018

Zenaida Lara Arboleda (Zeny), age 80, born on February 16, 1938, in Anabu, Imus, Cavite, Philippines, passed away on April 22, 2018. She resided in Corona, California, at the time of her passing.

Zeny was the sixth of ten children born to Pedro and Rosario Lara. She majored in Social Services at Santo Thomas University. Zeny met the love of her life Lamberto, who you may know as Berting, on the saulog (bus) ride on her way to class. She only accepted the seat which he offered and no one else's. They married in 1961, had three children, and eventually settled in the United States in 1971.

While raising their children they lived in Long Beach, then San Diego, and finally in Cerritos. Upon retirement, Zeny and Berting moved to Arizona for a brief period, but found it difficult to be separated from the family they loved so much and moved back to California in 2008.

Zeny truly enjoyed hosting big family gatherings. Wherever they lived, Zeny's house was always open to anyone and everyone. A gracious hostess, Zeny always made sure that there were plenty of leftovers and to-go boxes for her guests.

Zeny was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Although she had professional responsibilities as a manager at Beckman Instruments, she was always extremely family focused. Zeny's family was truly the center of her world. She was so very proud of each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was actively engaged in their care, ever present in their lives and rejoiced in each of their accomplishments. She created a special bond and many precious memories with each and every single one of them and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, her children Catherine (Cathy)Tamura, Peter (Louie) Arboleda, and Grace Atwood, her grandchildren, Ryan and Eric Tamura, Elizabeth Murciano, Christopher, Ashley, Matthew, Christian, Ayiesha, and Shaun Arboleda, Jessica and Jacqueline Atwood, and her great grandchildren, Fisher and Imogen Lu Murciano, her siblings Nenita Bautista, Benjamin, Ernesto, Leopoldo, and Manuel Lara.

The Lara-Arboleda family wishes to thank everyone for their support.Â
