Zella Langley Small

Zella Langley Small, 87, born on April 1, 1931, in Lake City, South Carolina, passed away August 4, 2018. She resided in Huntington Beach, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Born in Lake City, South Carolina on April 1, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Harry DuBose and Mae Belle Morris Langley.

She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Howard Small, Jr.; daughter and son-in-law Patti and Malcom Patterson, daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Mike Mailes, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Jodi Small, daughter and son-in-law Julie and Jim Lyle; grandchildren Matt (Giang) Patterson, Malcom Patterson, Autumn Mailes, Arianne (Michael) Fiebig, Andy Mailes, Brittanie (David) Cutkosky, Will (Bailey) Small, Mallorie Small, Natalie Small, Jordan Lyle, and Justin (Pamela) Lyle; and great-grandchildren Cindy Fiebig, Zeke Fiebig, Zella Fiebig, Declan Cutkosky and Keenan Cutkosky.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Mary Ellen "Tootsie" (Charles "Beau") Yates and brother James Asbury "Jimmy" (Ruth Ann- living) Langley.

After graduating from Lake City High School, she moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where she attended Business College. She met Bill on April 20, 1950 and they married on June 8, 1954. Bill and Zella moved to California in 1956. Zella had a strong faith in God and served as the 2nd grade Sunday School teacher at MidCities Baptist Church, teaching many generations of children to love and honor God. She loved all types of sports and was an avid LA Dodger fan. She enjoyed cruising, cooking, cross stitching and spending time with family.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Forest Lawn - Cypress - Hope Chapel, 4471 Lincoln Avenue Cypress, CA 90630

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at MidCities Baptist Church in Westminster. Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Forest Lawn in Cypress.
