Yu Yee Wong

Yu Yee Wong - Beloved daughter, sister, aunt, grand-aunt, and friend was called to the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2025 in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Rangoon, Burma on February 2, 1955, Yu spent her childhood in Burma and emigrated to the United States of America in 1972. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, she continued her high school studies at Belmont High School and went on to attend California State University, Los Angeles where she completed a degree in Computer Science. Yu worked for the Los Angeles County Internal Services Department as a computer programmer until her retirement in 2019. Yu enjoyed worldwide travel and international cuisines. She was a devoted and caring daughter who lived with her parents almost all her life and took great care of them after they retired. She enjoyed organising family meals by preparing Burmese food, specifically Mohinga that takes hours and hours of preparation and cooking. Dear Yu, we will miss your kind eyes, and your generous heart and spirit.

Yu is preceded in death by her loving father Shu Min Wong and her mother Nai Mein Liu; and brothers-in-law Larry Irwin and Ed Kwong. She is survived by her siblings Woon Lim (Yang), Kay Liu (Walter), Peik Tan (Chin), Yoke Chan (Wan), Jan Irwin, Sam Wong (Mary), Kin Kwong and Keng Wong (Yan); 8 nieces, 6 nephews, 7 grand-nieces and 6 grand-nephews.

A Memorial service and interment will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Wee Kirk o’ the Heather Chapel in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1712 S. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA 91205.
