Yong Sil Kim

With profound grace and solemnity, we honor the legacy of Yong Sil Kim, a beacon of inspiration and generosity, who concluded her earthly journey on February 12th, 2024. Yong Sil Kim was born on July 14th, 1956, in Seoul, Korea, the second daughter of Mr. Kim Sang-yong and Mrs. Lee Young-ran. Her journey from Seoul to becoming a successful entrepreneur and investor in Los Angeles, California, is a testament to her resilience, ambition, and compassion.

A first-generation immigrant, Yong Sil moved to Los Angeles in 1980, the same year she married in Seoul, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with dreams and challenges. In 1982, she welcomed her daughter, Stella, into the world, followed by the birth of her son, Michael,in 1985.

Yong Sil’s entrepreneurial spirit and relentless hard work ethic led her to establish and operate several businesses, including Stella Fashion, SSM Textile, and KYS Group Corp., making her a respected figure in the Los Angeles Fashion District. Her dedication to the fashion industry spanned over four decades, during which she not only achieved remarkable success but also devoted herself to uplifting others.

Yong Sil was well known for her deep compassion and endless generosity. She enjoyed being a part of the choir and member of the Thanksgiving Korean Church. She loved traveling and spending meaningful time with her loved ones. Her empathy for the homeless was unwavering, as she continuously provided them with support and aid.
