Yong Ha

Yong Ha, also affectionately known to us as Esther Ha, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, at UCI Health in Los Alamitos, California. Born on September 8, 1955, in San Francisco, CA, she was a beloved daughter and dedicated her life to her family and community, demonstrating unwavering devotion and grace throughout her years.

Esther had a remarkable career, serving as a respected manager at a pension company for 44 years. Her commitment and professionalism made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to work alongside her. She pursued higher education, graduating from UCLA, where she laid the groundwork for her successful career.

Esther's personal life was just as impressive as her professional path. For 46 years, she shared a loving marriage with her husband, James Ha. Their life together was characterized by a profound mutual respect and unwavering support, living harmoniously within a large family of nine that spanned four generations. Residing with her grandmother-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and her two sons, she exemplified patience and generosity, never once allowing disagreements to mar the family environment. Her strength in nurturing familial bonds, combined with her gentle spirit, has left an indelible mark on her loved ones.

Her personality was often described as pure as a lily and elegant as a crane. She embraced her faith wholeheartedly, devoting herself to God and serving her neighbors with kindness and compassion. A woman of prayer, Esther was frequently seen kneeling in supplication for her family and friends, embodying a spirit of humility. Her devotion did not go unnoticed; she was respected and cherished by all who knew her.

Beyond her work and family life, Esther found joy in her interests. She enjoyed reading the Bible, praying for families and missions, as well as sharing her musical talents. Her piano playing and singing of hymns infused her home with warmth and love, creating a nurturing environment for her family.

Esther’s proudest accomplishments included not only a long and fulfilling career but also successfully raising her two sons, Joseph and Benjamine, who are now thriving in their own important careers. She maintained deep and positive relationships with her daughters-in-law and served as a wonderful influence on her three grandchildren. Her family reflects the values of love, respect, and dedication she instilled in them.

Her longing for heaven and prayers for the Lord's return were testaments to her faith, which sustained her throughout her life. Friends and family often described her as an angel of God who made heaven a daily experience on earth. After years of selfless service and love, she was gently taken into the arms of the Lord.

As we remember her legacy of love, kindness, and faith, we take solace knowing that she is now at peace in God’s embrace. A funeral service celebrating Esther’s remarkable life will be held on April 12, 2025, at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, CA.
