Yolanda K. Rachal

Yolanda Rachal was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Compton, CA with her family when she was 7 years old. She was the fourth out of four children. She was born to the union of Lewis and Mamie Shedrick. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Greater New Zion Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and Choir. She attended Sunday School and Church weekly until she moved to Long Beach CA. She attended Regina Caeli High School were she won the title of " Class Clown".  She furthered her education by attending El Camino College which helped her transition into a career of service to others. Yolanda spent the last 16 years as the Activities Manager for Sunrise Senior Living in Seal Beach, CA 

Yolanda affectionally known as "Yoyo was  joyful, caring and a giving person. She made you laugh and enjoyed sharing her life with family and friends. She spent the last 30 plus years with Jack Montez Smith who preceded her in death on April 11, 2024 and one of two sons Niko who preceded her in death in 1988. Yolanda and Jack had a son together Monty Smith. in Los Angeles, CA, United States, passed away August 30, 2024. She resided in Long Beach, CA at the time of her passing. She leaves to celebrate her legacy: Her Mom, Mamie Richardson, Son, Monty Smith, two grandchildren, Mason and Makhi, three siblings, Freida Mitchell, Charles Rachal Jr. and Renita Verner, one niece, four nephews and host of loving, dedicated and supporting family and friends.  Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA.
