Cypress

Yolanda Marie Dewees (Orosco), age 77, passed away peacefully in her home in Cypress, California on March 10, 2023. She was born on August 13, 1945, in Wickenburg, Arizona. Raised along with her four siblings by parents Conrado “Coney” and Eloise Orosco. She lived an idyllic childhood in this quaint little town surrounded and loved by family and friends. Yolanda would make her way to California in her early 20’s and would never look back. She raised two daughters as a single mother, until the summer of 1979, when she would meet the love of her life, Larry Dewees. They were blessed to have celebrated 40 years of marriage before her death.

Yolanda worked loyally for the Aerospace Corporation for 31 years. First as a temp, then hired as a full-time employee. Her work ethic was unparalleled. She was the go-to person from organizing birthday celebrations for co-workers, to the annual Administrative Assistants/Professionals Day luncheon.

Yolanda was a true matriarch. She loved fiercely and passionately. She was tough when needed, but always welcomed you with open arms. Her children would tell you that many of their friends considered her “Mom” as well, because that is how she loved.

Yolanda is preceded in death by her parents, Coney Orosco and Eloise Orosco; sister, Corrine Rowley; brother, Coney Orosco Jr; and Father-in-law, Bill Dewees.

Yolanda is survived by her husband, Larry Dewees; daughters, Laura Burch and her husband Jason Davis; Alicia Burnstein and her husband Norm; sons, Erik Dewees; Christohpher Dewees and his wife, Vanessa. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Austin and his wife Curra, River and his fiancé Julia, Colin, Baily, Zachary, Grayson, Parker, and Oliver; and Great Grandchildren: Giselle, Fay, Scarlett, Odin, and Iris. Also, her Mother-in-law, Evelyn (Kelley) Dewees; sister-in-law, Patty Cagle; and brother-in-law, Chuck Dewees. Her memory will be forever cherished by her sister, Theresa Davis and her husband Steve. Yolanda also leaves behind her aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. As well as her many friends that she has shared so many happy memories with.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the loving care she received from her care givers; especially to Daisy Bernil. Who affectionally referred to Yolanda as Yoli-Bear.

She leaves us with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
