Yeprem Agop Maadanian

November 28, 1944 — March 30, 2017

Yeprem Agop Maadanian, 72, born on November 28, 1944 in Beirut, Lebanon, passed away March 30, 2017. He resided in Van Nuys, California at the time of his passing. . He was one of 4 children Garo, Harout, and Ano.
As a child he was following the path of his father as a Civil engineer. He started sketching like an architect as early as age 13. His passion for being creative lived on throughout his life. I have many stories and things to share about him.
One memory was of him was the time he drew a picture of Ford car on a plastic bag and framed it and gave it to his daughter in law Susie because she was born in Detroit where Ford Motor company was. Many times he showed his grandkids his random art drawings and one time the kids drew their own pictures and walked house to house selling them and grandpa caught them and was amazed he left that impression on his grandkids. He was also very creative in making his own custom frames and I bet many of you have those frames hanging on their walls today.
Another thing we remember was the countless hours he spent taking care of his grandkids. Nobody has the patience that Yeprem had. Even if he had to drive the baby around the street at night to put them to sleep he would. The countless times he fed them and bathed them and changed their diapers was something special from grandpa. There was even a time he joined his son Harout's family on a cruise and he would take the kids on the stroller up and down the hall trying to comfort them and put them to sleep. His patience was unheard of. His love to his grandkids was deep. Till today the children love his signature toasted cheese sandwiches and anytime they see it anywhere they remember him.
Yeprem loved the outdoors. He loved to take care of his fruit trees and grape vine. He loved to drive around and visit stores and and find unique things. Especially things about Jesus, whether it was a cross or vase, painting, or whatever he would share it with us when he came home.
Yeprem coined the phrase "one man band," and he sure lived to uphold that name. Most of you in this room at one point or another picked up the phone and called him to help you fix something or build something in your home. He never hesitated to drop everything and come and help. He never asked for a penny in return from anyone. He did it out of the goodness of his heart. He always found a way to make it work, or make it fit, or make it look good. And his Gray Toyota pickup truck will never be forgotten. His tool set was always ready in the passangers seat ready for the next frantic call for help.

God truly had a huge plan and purpose for Yeprems life. It's as if he has 9 lives. How any heart attacks, blocked arteries, bad falls, bombs that missed him by close distances, gun shots that were hairline away and tires that blew up in front of him. The Lord had a purpose to keep him in our lives all these years. He was an example of kindness, humility, humble, patient, hardworking, pure hearted. All of which Christ wants us to exhibit in our lives to those around us.
He was truly a man of God and is now healed from his illness and resting in heaven.

Yeprem you will always be in our hearts.. and until we meet again..
