Yegsapeth Isabel Kouyoumjian

August 2, 1930 — March 3, 2016

Yegsapeth Isabel Kouyoumjian, age 85, passed away March 3, 2016, in Arcadia, California, her home of nearly 40 years. Born in Beirut, Lebanon to survivors of the Armenian genocide, she was manager at a famed Continental Hotel during Beirut's golden years in the 1960s and early 70s. She immigrated to the US in 1976, where she learned English, her fifth language, after the start of Lebanon's civil war. She was the president of the friendship club at St. Gregory's Armenian Apostolic church in Pasadena. She is preceded by her daughter Shenorhig Kouyoumjian and her grandson Vache Tashjian. She is survived by her daughter Suzie Tashjian, her grandchildren Raffi Tashjian, Eileen Nucho, Joanne Nucho and Natalie Nucho, and her great grandchildren Marley Tashjian, Mikos Tashjian, Luke Paterson and Shant Ono. Services will be held at 2pm on March 10 in the Memory Chapel of Forest Lawn, Covina, California.
