In Loving Memory of Xaveon Lamar Truesdell
May 21, 2004 – April 17, 2025
It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we remember the life of Xaveon Lamar Truesdell, who passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 20. A resident of Southern California, Xaveon departed this world at his school dorm residence in Los Angeles, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and unwavering love.
Born in Henderson, Nevada, on May 21, 2004, to Brittani White and Xavier Truesdell, Xaveon brought light into the lives of all who knew him. From an early age, he stood out for his vibrant spirit, kind heart, and magnetic personality. He spent his formative years in Illinois, Iowa, and Georgia before planting roots in California, where he blossomed into a young man admired by peers, mentors, and family alike.
Xaveon attended Logan Elementary and Gabriella Charter School before completing middle school at Durfee Elementary. He later attended Mountain View High School, where he was known for his athleticism, school pride, and heartfelt connections with classmates and coaches. Basketball was one of his greatest passions; he was a proud and talented player who gave his all to every game. Xaveon graduated and was supposed to walk with the Class of 2025 from Monrovia Adult School, a milestone he was incredibly proud to achieve.
A young man of many gifts an artist, a musician, a dreamer, and a helper Xaveon devoted much of his free time to volunteering in the community, often assisting veterans and the unhoused. His generosity knew no bounds. He was the kind of person who would give you his last dollar, his last bite, or his last bit of energy just to make sure someone else was okay. His heart was immense, and he loved with everything he had.
Xaveon was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend. He shared a close bond with his siblings: Trinity (19), Zaiden (11), Malik (29), Doron Jr. (18), Nassir (15), and Samiah (8). He was raised with love by his parents, Xavier Truesdell and Brittany McCarther, and his bonus parents, Shana and Doron, who all ensured he was surrounded by care and support throughout his life.
He created unforgettable memories with both sides of his family sightseeing, traveling, enjoying great food, playing video games, making music, and sharing countless laughs. Whether he was spending beach days in Santa Monica with his bonus mom and siblings in California, going to Marvel movies with his dad, or enjoying long drives and heartfelt conversations with his mom complete with Zaxby’s meals and helping in the barbershop with his bonus dad in Atlanta Xaveon embraced joy in every moment.
He had recently completed his high school diploma and was enrolled in Job Corps in Los Angeles, working toward a certification with determination and ambition. Sometimes he would return home on the weekends to reconnect with his family, always eager to share love and laughter.
Xaveon was preceded in death by his beloved grandfathers, Aaron Truesdell and Earl White, both of whom passed in August of 2020. He is survived by his grandmothers and bonus grandparents, all of whom played meaningful and cherished roles in his life. He is also remembered by countless cousins, extended family, and close friends who became chosen family.
Though his time here was far too short, the impact Xaveon made will live on forever. His light, loyalty, and love touched so many lives. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who had the blessing of knowing him.
May his soul rest peacefully, and may we all continue to honor his memory with love. If you or someone you know is struggling, please know you are not alone. In honor of Xaveon and all those affected by suicide and mental health challenges, we encourage open conversations, compassion, and seeking help when needed. If you see something, say something.
