Willie Lee "Pluck" Moore
November 7, 1947 – June 10, 2026
Willie Lee "Pluck" Moore, fondly remembered for his warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 78. Born to Willie and Rebecca Moore in Lake, Mississippi, he moved to Palm Springs, California, when he was just five years old. Willie was a proud graduate of Palm Springs High School, where he shone in sports and nurtured a love for reading.
His professional life was spent in construction, working tirelessly and eventually retiring through the local union. Willie was deeply committed to his community, known not only for his survival and activism in the historic Section 14 Survivors Settlement but also for his leadership as president of the Palm Springs Flashback.
Loved by all as "Pluck Mo," his humor.Willie adored the outdoors, gardening, and was celebrated in local news for his exceptional fishing prowess. His doors were always open, welcoming friends and strangers alike with captivating stories and delicious BBQ.
He leaves behind his cherished fiancée of nearly 30 years, Linda Torrance, his children Willie Moore Jr. and Sharon Hendricks, grandchildren Gregory and Raven, four great-grandchildren, and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 9:45 AM at Forest Lawn Cathedral City. It will also be streamed online at forestlawn.com. The family kindly appreciates your prayers and expressions of love. Condolences can be sent to PO Box 234 Palm Springs, California.
Willie’s legacy of joy and community spirit will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
