William Yu

William K. Yu, 70, was born on April 15, 1954 in Hong Kong. He moved to the United States to further his education during his late teenage years, spending time in both Northern and Southern California. He then moved to Toronto, Canada where he married his wife, Laurinda, and had their daughter, Jacquelyn. During that time, William completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Toronto and worked for IBM for a short period before he and his family moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 1980s where his son, Benjamin, was born. He then began work at Panda Restaurant Group, where he would eventually earn the title of Chief Information Officer. In addition to being patient and loving as a father and husband, he was also a generous and kind brother, son, and friend. William was a quiet but thoughtful leader, and a compassionate soul who held a deep love for music, learning, and nature’s beauty. He had hopes of retiring in Hawaii but unfortunately sustained a severe brain injury in 2008 that took his independence.  William resided in Alhambra, CA at the time of his passing. He is survived by his daughter, Jacquelyn, son, Benjamin, and granddaughter, Luna. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA.
