William Surace

Bill was born on October 6, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Theresa Surace – the youngest of 3 sons. He liked to read and play baseball. A highlight in his young life occurred when he was the pitcher for the All Star Team in Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. He left high school to help support his family and joined the US Marine Corps at age 18.
After his discharge, he married and raised 3 children - Steven, Janice and Denise (5 grandchildren – Caressa, Kyle, Travis, Cassandra, Jessica). Employed as a butcher and later running his own business "Triangle Meats" in Hollywood, CA. He coached little league baseball and later shared light hearted moments he had with his little leaguers.
In 1974, he earned an AA degree from Pierce College. Bill and Freda married in 1976 and through the years they enjoyed summer vacations in Hawaii, Tahiti, Carlsbad, Del Mar and Las Vegas. Bill loved scuba diving, playing golf, tennis, lawn bowling, visiting local race tracks and joined the Elks Lodge.
Bill loved the Lord and he will be remembered for his great sense of humor, generosity and kindness.
