William Howard Shriftman

William "Bill" Howard Shriftman, 71, born on August 15, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully July 31, 2019 due to complications from his 11 month battle with Leukemia. He resided in Sherman Oaks, CA at the time of his passing.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife Pam of Sherman Oaks, CA, his three children, Linda Brokaski of Reno, NV, Laura Velleno of San Diego, CA and Robert Shriftman and his wife Suzanne Eastman of San Diego, CA, his Brother, Michael Shriftman and his wife Robin Shriftman of Houston, TX and his four grandchildren, Ava and Luke Velleno and Tyler and Jena Brokaski and many extended family and friends.

Bill spent over 35 years in the radio industry and retired as Chief Financial Officer in 2016 after 28 years with Lotus Communications Corporation. Bill was instrumental in the growth of Lotus Communications and building a team he was proud of.

In 1986, Bill moved to Los Angeles California to work as VP/Finance for Gannett Radio/KIIS FM. His prior positions included Controller of Radio Advertising Bureau in New York and Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co.

Bill attended Albany University in NY and PACE University where he graduated with a degree in Accounting.

Bill loved sports and outdoor activities. He enjoyed years of annual family vacations in Mammoth Mountain and Lake Tahoe. He was successful in his endeavor to teach his family to ski and love it as much as he did. Bill was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan in his youth and remained a loyal New York Giants fan after relocating to Los Angeles. In his new hometown, he acquired a passion for ice hockey and was an LA Kings fan. Bill and Pam spent many years traveling with friends and family all over the world.

A private memorial service will be held on August 12th at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills and a Celebration of Life is being planned.
