Rev. Bill Lofbom, 84, Evangelist to the Continents.
Tage Hans Napoleon Lofbom, son of Axel Rickard Lofbom and Maria Emelia (Lindstrom) Lofbom was born in Norrlangtrask, Fallfors Forsamling, Skelleftea, Vasterbotten in Northern Sweden.
As a young man, he set out for America, with the "Fearsome Foursome"- boyhood friends, via Canada, and New York, and then Florida where he met in Bible College, and married his beautiful Hawaiian wife, Damian Dart, of Hilo, Hawaii. They made their home in California, raising 3 beautiful children, Lisa, Sonny, and Michelle.
As a Master Baker, and with his wife Damian, owners of "Bit of Stockholm" Smorgasbord near Universal Studios, Bill spent his earlier years baking delicious limpa bread, sour cream scones, princess cake, and elaborate wedding and birthday cakes, for the stars of Hollywood. He even baked a clock in a loaf of bread for Alfred Hitchcock. Mr. Nudie, the tailor to Country and Western's elite, and Elvis' gold lame suit, was a loyal customer.
Bill was President of the Hollywood Chapter of Full Gospel Businessmen, an elder of North Hollywood Assemblies of God Church, and an early supporter of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), and PTL (Praise the Lord) Club, recognizing Christian Television as a key to fulfilling the great commission to reach every person with the saving gospel of Jesus. Bill was an author of several books, and an ordained Assemblies of God minister. He received the Medal of Freedom from Senate Majority Leader, Senator Dr. Bill Frist, and led the United States Congress in a prayer for our country, 2 Chronicles 7:14.
In the 70's, he answered God's call on his life, selling his restaurant, and entered full time ministry, providing food for the soul. For over 35 years, through his and Damian's ministry, International Faith Ministries, and TronsKraft, he traveled to the continents preaching the gospel and praying for the sick, bringing Bibles to Russia, building a school in Africa, ministering in Siberia, Mongolia, India, Myanmar, Philippines, Hawaii, Argentina, Australia, Spain, Portugal, and Sweden, just to name a few. He received a lifelong calling to ministry, and did not consider retirement.
On November 22, 2014, the Lord called him to his heavenly reward, saying "Well done, my good and faithful servant". Having fulfilled his life's work, he joyfully entered Heaven, greeted by his loving wife, Damian Dart Lofbom, his Father and Mother, Axel and Emelia Lofbom, his brother Rune, and many saints who have gone before him.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Charles) Zimmerman; his son Sonny (Bridget) Lofbom; his daughter, Michelle (Bobbie) Tucker; his grandchildren, Krissie (Chad) Stewart; Talon (Pasiri) Zimmerman; Emelia Zimmerman (Eric Gray); Ashley (Andrew) Riopka; Matthew, Michael, and Zachary Tucker; Jaden and Haley Lofbom; Amy Burdick; and his great-grandchildren Axyl and Shawn Zimmerman; Kai and Wesley Stewart. We will all miss our Daddy's (Morfar/Papa) Godly Wisdom, Care, Love, and Great Sense of Humor!
His survivors also include his family in Sweden, sisters Maja Abrahamsson, Thyra Gustavsson, Gunborg (Karl-Erik) Bredberg, May Johansson, Rune's widow Lena Lovbom, his nephews and their families, his namesake Tage (Irene) Abrahamsson, Hakan (Birgitta) Abrahamsson, Martin (Barbro) Gustavsson, his Hawaiian in-laws Flame Makahanaloa, Denton (Sally) Dart, Tony (Faith) Distajo, cousin Naomi Wela, and friends, family, and prayer partners throughout the world.
Bill's simple message is: You can have Eternal Life by inviting Jesus into your heart. Let him be Lord in your life.
