Haverhill: William F. Gorski, 98, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully, Monday, September 7, 2015 at Penacook Place.

The son of the late Stanley and Nellie (Bizeur) Gorski, he attended local schools and graduated in 1937 from Haverhill High School, where he played tackle and place kicker for the undefeated State Champion Varsity football team. An All Scholastic Player, he received a scholarship to Providence College.

Mr. Gorski served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in England as a Military Policeman and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the European, African, Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, the American Defense Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was employed for over thirty years as an engineer and model design maker at Raytheon Corporation until his retirement in 1982.

A member of All Saints Parish, the former Saint Joseph Parish, the Lorraine Post of the VFW and Post #147 of the Am Vets, he enjoyed horse racing, football, baseball, trips to the mountains of New England and local beaches, and twenty-five winters in Daytona Beach, Florida.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-eight years, Catherine Lorraine (Lagasse) Gorski, three sons, Thomas P. Gorski and his wife Janis of Naples, Florida, Stephen A. Gorski and his wife Linda of Plaistow, NH, and Edward J. Gorski of Hampton, NH, a son-in-law Michael Ferrick of Newburyport, a sister, Catherine B. Gorski of Haverhill, grandchildren, Matthew Gorski, Andra Gorski, Alexandra Gorski, Zachary Gorski, Murphy Ferrick, and Liam Ferrick, great grandchildren Adeline and Clara June, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Billie F. (Gorski) Ferrick, and two brothers Frank Gorski and Andrew Gorski.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Life Celebration to be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home followed by the rendering of military honors by the U.S. Army. Donations in his name may be made to Haverhill High School Football Boosters Club, c/o Haverhill High School, 137 Monument St., Haverhill, MA or to Haverhill Boy's and Girl's Club, 55 Emerson Avenue, Haverhill, MA.
