Plaistow: William A. Fyfe, 81, of Plaistow, died on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts and raised and educated in Medford, he was the son of the late John and Gladys (Bradford) Fyfe. A member of the Medford High School Class of 1948, he later received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Mr. Fyfe served as a Lieutenant,JG in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Ribbon and the European Occupation Service Ribbon.

He was employed as an engineer at Western Electric and AT&T Technologies from 1957 until his retirement in 1993.

A resident of Plaistow for the past twenty years, and a former resident of  North Reading, MA from 1957 until moving to North Andover in 1966 and later Plaistow in 1992, he was a member of Washington Lodge of Masons in Lexington. He enjoyed constructing model ships and replicas of W.W.II aircraft.

The husband of the late Geraldine Elizabeth (Moore) Fyfe, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William A. "Skip"' and Marlene Fyfe, of Tyngsboro, MA, Douglas B. and Cheryl Fyfe of Pelham, John J. and Susan Fyfe of Hampstead, Bradford S.Fyfe and Lisa Foote-Fyfe of Bennington, Edward M. Fyfe of Plaistow, a daughter and son-in-law, Joanne E. and Stephen Isherwood of Plaistow, a sister, Priscilla Greene of Portland,ME, also ten grandchildren, Ben Isherwood, Jacob Isherwood, Peter Isherwood, Anne Isherwood, Stasha M. Fyfe, William A, Fyfe,III, Ryan Fyfe, Colleen Fyfe, Lauren Fyfe, Eric Fyfe, three step-grandchildren, Matthew Foote, Emily Foote, KaitLynne Foote and two great grandchildren, Isabel G. Fyfe, and Addison Fyfe, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St.( Route 121A), Plaistow. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 10a.m. in the funeral home with burial with military honors to follow in Plaistow Cemetery.
