Born on May 26, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Lynn's passion for medicine was evident from an early age. He pursued this calling with unwavering commitment, graduating in the very first graduating class from Michigan State University School of Medicine in 1972.

There, he completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine and the Long Beach Veteran Hospital. Lynn's medical career flourished as he practiced with the Nephrology Specialist Medical Group in Orange, California, from 1977 to 1995.
In 1995, Lynn moved to the desert, where he served as the Medical Director of the Desert Dialysis Center in Palm Springs and the Hi-Desert Dialysis Center in Yucca Valley until 2009. Even after retiring from full-time practice in December 2016, he continued to consult part-time in Rancho Mirage until February 2024, demonstrating his enduring dedication to patient care.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, Lougene and JC Cooper, and his brother, Larry Cooper. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn; his sons, Scott and Jay Cooper; daughters-in-law, Sylvie and Katie Cooper; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma, Declan, Niamh, Myka, Reagan, and Jace Cooper.
