William Francis Cavanagh III, fondly known as "Bill" peacefully passed away at his home on October 17,2020 at the age of 74 after a 7 year battle with Frontotemporal Dementia with Parkinsonism.
Bill was born in New York City, NY and preceded in death by his parents William F. Cavanagh, Jr. and Lynda Lee Cavanagh and infant grandson, Colin William Cavanagh.
Bill will be greatly missed and is survived by his loving and caring wife of 26 years, Joenette Cavanagh; his 3 sisters DonnaLee Young, Melou Piegari and Denise Terzian (Ed); his five children William Cavanagh IV (Janelle), Tara Weydert (Jason), Roderick Raymundo (Katie), Suzette Raymundo and Rod Michael Raymundo (Rubi); 11 grandchildren, several cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws, friends and all who knew him.
Bill attended Boston College and graduated with a degree in Accounting and an MBA degree from Arizona State University. He was a Certified Public Accountant in the states of New York, Arizona & California and had a successful 40 year accounting career. After 26 years of dedicated service, Bill (Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer) retired at the age of 61 from AECOM where he met his wife and made wonderful, lifelong friendships.
Bill enjoyed playing golf & tennis, going to the movie theater twice a week, reading books, learning & investing in new technologies/electronic gadgets and taking yearly travel trips to Hawaii or other beautiful countries with his wife. He also enjoyed playing & collecting various guitars/banjo. Bill loved listening to country music & Hawaiian songs. Bill truly lived life to the fullest and always had a great sense of humor. He was a devoted husband, loving son, great brother, caring father & loving grandfather. He was a hard working employee, exceptional leader, compassionate and fair manager.
He will be most remembered by his family, friends and his Hospice Home Care team during his last days for his display of strong faith in God, strength, love and willing acceptance (without complaint) of his health challenges. He was at peace knowing "heaven" awaits him on the other side.
Liturgy of the Word Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 13th 10:00 am at the patio of the Church of the Hills (White Church), Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills). The memorial service will be officiated by Fr. Emmanuel Delfin of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Graveside interment will take place right after the funeral service. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
