William Arnold Appleton

On Monday June 29th 2015 William A. Appleton, age 67, passed after a long, arduous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Linda and his children Philip, Alec and Mary. Bill Appleton was born on December 8th 1947 in Ventura California to parents William and Hildreth Appleton of Simi Valley California. He graduated from Simi Valley High School in 1965. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was deployed to the Gulf of Tonkin on the USS Midway during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Pasadena City College in 1973 with an A.A. in photography. He married Linda Haig on 12 May 2001. Bill was a published author, a creative photographer, and a historian among other things. Bill was a soul mate, a father and friend. He exemplified how a man should live his life through selfless acts of service, courage in the face of adversity and the love and compassion he showed to others. A funeral is scheduled for Bill on Thursday July 9th 2015, at The Old North Church at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery (Hollywood Hills), with a celebration of life to follow at United Armenian Congregational Church at 3480 Cahuenga Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90068. Reverend Ron Tovmassian will officiate. All are welcome to come and celebrate Bill's life. Please RSVP no later than Sunday July 5th 2015.
