Wilfredo Alcantara

Wilfredo Alcantara, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and, passed away on July 27, 2024 Born on April 5, 1953, Wilfredo dedicated his life to the business of export/import trading. Starting in his early 20s, he managed his family business with dedication and later ventured into partnerships with friends. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly through the years until his peaceful passing.

Wilfredo will forever be remembered for his culinary prowess and the joy he brought to every occasion. He took charge of cooking for all celebrations and holidays, creating unforgettable moments with his signature Thanksgiving turkey and memorable birthday parties for his children in their younger years.

A man of many talents and a heart full of generosity, Wilfredo was always there to lend a helping hand to friends in need. His passion for cooking extended beyond his family and friends as he volunteered at church events, cooked for the homeless pre-Covid, prepared meals for church festivities like Filipino breakfasts and dinners for priests until their illness prevented it. On Sundays, he served as an usher in church with honor and dedication.

Beyond his culinary skills and charitable endeavors, Wilfredo enjoyed working around his home. Whether it was building flowerbeds, planting trees in the backyard, constructing additions like a dirty kitchen or garage for extra space, he found joy in these projects that added beauty and functionality to his surroundings.

Among those who preceded him in death are Pura (mother), Federico Sr. (father), and Enrico (brother). Wilfredo is survived by a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: Mercedes (wife), Kenneth (son), Kellie Mae (daughter), Keith (son), William (grandson), Miriam (sister), Teresa (sister), Federico Jr. (brother), Marie (sister), Victor (brother), Victoria(sister); as well as Tides Amado (brother-in-law), Beth(sister-in-law), Kevin & Denny Amado(nephew), Miguel & John G(nephew), Abigail(niece), Ana(niece), Aliana(niece), Isabel(niece).

The services to honor Wilfredo's life will be held at Forest Lawn - Glendale on August 12th-13th for visitations from 10:00 am to 11:00 am each day. The funeral service will take place on August 14th at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Los Angeles starting at 10:00 am followed by burial back at Forest Lawn - Glendale on August 15th starting at 3:00 pm.

Wilfredo Alcantara's legacy of kindness, culinary excellence, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he touched countless lives with his warmth and compassion.
