Plaistow: Walter M. Morse, Jr., 85, a resident of Plaistow for the last fifty-eight years, died Monday, August 8, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born and raised in Newton Junction, NH, son of the late Walter M. and Rachel (Willis) Morse, he graduated from Sanborn Seminary with the Class of 1948 and was a member of the Varsity Football Team. He later attended the University of New Hampshire. During his high school years, Mr. Morse served the town of Newton Junction as an Airforce Ground Observer during W.W.II.

A Korean War veteran, Mr. Morse served as a Radarman in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until his honorable discharge in 1952 and was a recipient of the Korean Service Ribbon, The United Nations Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.

He was employed for over thirty years at Western Electric Co, AT& T Technologies, and retired in 1988 as a test layout operator. He was a member of Local 1365 of the Communication Workers of America, AFL, CIO and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of the Newton Junction Baptist Church, the Carl Davis Post of the American Legion, and a long standing member of the NRA and proud supporter of our Veterans.

An avid reader of American Westerns, and a longtime skier and member of the Laurentian Ski Club, he treasured the time he spent with his family and especially enjoyed traveling to Europe with his wife, hunting, fishing and bowling in local leagues.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty years, Marcia E. (McKay) Morse, daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Craig Zamoida of Auburn, NH, Kim and Michael Kagan of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, Sandra McKay of Chester, NH, Jane and Bruce Baril of Plaistow, and Lisa and Jeffrey Sargent of Newton, NH, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 12 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. At the request of the family the funeral service will be private. Donations in Mr. Morse's name may be made to a veterans organization or a charity of one's choice.
