Wallace Charles Zimmerman, 71, born on April 22, 1949, in Chicago, IL, passed away July 30, 2020 in Fullerton, CA. He resided in La Palma, CA at the time of his passing.

Wally grew up in Long Beach, CA attending David Starr Jordan High School - Class of 1967. Wally then joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged. Wally spent the last 43 years in Orange County, CA and was heavily involved in numerous community service organizations in the Cities of La Palma and Cypress, CA.

Wally retired from Southern California Edison in 2011 after 42 years of service. He was assigned to several work locations throughout SCE and held the title of System-Wide Transmission Design Manager at the Santa Ana Facility at the time of his retirement. During his tenure at SCE, he gained numerous life-long friends that were still very active and involved in his life after retirement.

Wally spent the last ten years traveling abroad to multiple foreign countries and road-tripping across the United States in his motor-home with his wife. In December of 2019 Wally and Peggy became grandparents for the first time to a beautiful little girl, Ava Elizabeth Zimmerman, she was the jewel of his world.

Wally was proceeded in death by his Mother, Father and older brother Ed who gave his life in the service of our country in 1968.
He is survived by his lovely wife Peggy of 36 years, his son Kris and wife Mia, son Jason, son Dan and wife Kate and his only granddaughter Ava, along with his daughter Allyson and fiance Stephen. He is also survived by his two younger sisters Judy and Helen, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress in conjunction with Saint Irenaeus Catholic Church, Cypress, Ca and due to COVID-19 restrictions, the services will be a private event.
