Virginia B. Runyon

July 25, 1916 — February 18, 2013

Virginia B. Runyon, 96, born on July 25, 1916, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 18, 2013 of natural causes, surrounded by love and care. She was a mother first and foremost--not only to her two sons and grandson, but to extended family, neighbors, friends, helpers and everyone she met. She was a wonderful listener, she commanded an amazing memory and she was a very kind and thoughtful lady.

Virginia lived, cooked, entertained and celebrated in the same Temple City home for 75 years. Her beloved husband, Al passed away in 2002. She was daughter to former Los Angeles Chief of Police, R. Lee Heath and his wife, Essie B. Heath, one of University of Southern California's first female graduates.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Runyon of Walnut Creek; Gary Runyon and his wife Mary of Nipomo; grandson, Chad Runyon and his partner Jody Black of Danville; and her many caregivers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
