We are sad to announce Virginia Lencioni passed away peacefully on March 28, 2023 at her home in LaQuinta, California. Virginia was born August 1, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Bowen High School in 1945. During high school, she worked part time for the telephone company, Illinois Bell, as part of the war effort of World War II. After graduation, she began her career as a telephone operator full time. Later in life, she became a licensed commercial bus driver, and was a school bus driver for the Lansing IL school district and in the private transportation sector. She married her Husband, Sergio, February 25, 1950, and they raised two children: Ronald and Susan.
Virginia lived in Chicago area for most of her life. After retirement, Virginia moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she lived for almost 20 years. She traveled extensively, visiting Europe several times. She particularly enjoyed Italy, and even visited Russia shortly after the fall of the Soviet Union. She later moved to San Diego, California where she lived for almost a decade. She moved to Palm Desert, California in 2017.
Virginia loved art, music and spending time with friends. She was sharp witted and made many, many friends of all ages. She was a strong conversationalist. Virginia also loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. Her thoughtfulness and kindness touched everyone she knew. She loved her family and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her children Susan and Ronald, nieces and nephews, two grandchildren Joseph and Anthony, their wives Jenna and Negar, and great-granddaughter Lilly, all the joy of her life.
Memorial services will be scheduled soon. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
