Virginia “Jeanie” GrigsbyJuly 18, 1944 – November 3, 2025

Virginia (Jeanie) Grigsby, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on November 3, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, and resided in Claremont, California, at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina Hills.

Jeanie was the second oldest of five siblings and grew up in Baldwin Park, California. She attended Pomona Catholic High School and soon after began her career as a secretary for an insurance company in Los Angeles.

She married her first husband, Richard Rusovick, and together they welcomed their first child, Ricky, while living in Pueblo, Colorado. The family later returned to California, where their second son, Christian, was born.

Years later, Jeanie met her second husband, Steve Grigsby, at a medical clinic where they both worked—and it was there that their love story began. After marrying, they completed their family with two daughters, Gina and Erica. Jeanie and Steve made their home in Claremont, where they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.

Jeanie worked as a medical secretary at Casa Colina Hospital before later finishing her career with Claremont Unified School District. After the birth of her first grandchild, she joyfully retired to devote her time to what she valued most—her family. Her greatest joy came from helping raise her grandchildren and being part of their daily lives.

Jeanie was known for her warm smile, kind heart, and genuine interest in others. She had a remarkable way of connecting with people—remembering their names, stories, and the little details that made them feel special. She could turn any acquaintance into a friend simply by caring enough to ask and truly listen. Jeanie loved sharing stories of her life and of her children and grandchildren, whose accomplishments filled her with pride.

Jeanie was a devoted wife to her husband, Steve, and a loving mother to her four children: Ricky, Christian, Gina, and Erica. She was also a proud grandmother to her four beautiful grandchildren: Scotty, Anthony, Andi, and Louie.

Her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services:A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Claremont, California. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Covina Hills, where Jeanie will be laid to rest.

“Her love will forever guide us, her laughter will live in our hearts, and her spirit will never fade.”
