Virginia Ella Farhood
Dec. 7, 1924 – October 28, 2017
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Virginia Ella Farhood, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on October 28, 2017. She was born on December 7, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, to Daniel E. Bright and Martha Lincoln Bright, the third of six girls. Virginia was a distant cousin to Abraham Lincoln. She married the love of her life, Victor Farhood, in 1944 and had two sons, Victor and Vincent.
Virginia was a loving daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was funny and kind and loved to talk to everyone. She was the strongest woman we ever knew. She was loved dearly and touched the hearts of everyone that knew her. Virginia will be missed but her spirit and legacy will live on.
Virginia retired from Litton in 1995. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII at Lockheed and worked on the P-38's. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family and friends, camping, waterskiing, vacations, and most importantly, shopping!
Virginia had a great memory and loved sharing stories of growing up in Los Angeles in the 30's, 40's and 50's with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sisters, Dana Dreyfuss and Rosalie Cole; her sons, Victor (Toni) and Vincent (Susan) Farhood; six grandchildren, Amy, Brooke, Cara, Stephanie, Andrew and Michael; and 11 great grandchildren, Mia, Ethan, Eva, Henry, Victor, Sebastian, Abigail, Vivian, Vincent, Conrad and Kiaran. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor, and sisters, Norma, Martha and Catherine.
Services will be held at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, on Thursday, November 16, at 12:30 p.m. There will be a reception following at the home of Victor and Toni Farhood.
