Virginia Lee Eldridge, 93 was born to the late John Harvey and Ruth Elizabeth Eldridge on September 28, 1930 in Orlinda, Tennessee. She was also preceded in death by her five siblings, John Louis Eldridge, Helen Louise Eldridge Crampton, Joseph Henry Eldridge, Sarah Cornelius Eldridge Maxey and Gerald Deaux Eldridge. She resided in La Habra, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Covina, California.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ our Lord at the Church of Christ in Orlinda, Tennessee. Her faith always held a strong influence throughout her life. She graduated from Orlinda High School in 1948. She was united in holy matrimony to Herschel Ray Cobb in Rossville, Georgia on October 20, 1951. Herschel Ray Cobb preceded her in death on September 15, 1976. This union was blessed with three children.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Kenneth Ray Cobb of Lake Havasu, Arizona; Andrea Lou Cobb Zeller-Nield of Arroyo Grande, California; and Sheri Denise Cobb Hintz of Apple Valley, California. Mrs. Cobb is also survived by son in law Richard Nield, daughter in law Deborah Petersen Cobb and by five Grandchildren; Keri Mae Cobb Gonzales; Danny Ray Cobb; Brynda Rae Zeller, Amanda Michelle Zeller, and Deanna Shaniece Hintz; and five Great Grandchildren; Jake and Zach Gonzales, Dani and Kaeli Cobb; and Elissa Dawn Zeller. Mrs. Virginia Cobb was also loved by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Virginia Cobb, together with her husband Herschel Cobb, established Ray Cobb Transportation Co. which created numerous jobs through United Van Lines and their Agency with Global Van Lines. They were the first to have dedicated car haulers to moving exclusive privately owned automobiles around the country. Mrs. Cobb was active in the moving industry and together with her late husband, Herschel Ray Cobb, won several industry awards over their years of service.
