Virgilia "Virginia" (Esplanada) Arcebido, 79, of Anaheim Hills, lovingly known as Momo, passed away surrounded by her family Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Kaiser Anaheim Hospital.
She was the wife of Ruperto Arcebido, her lifelong love who she met in college. Together they came to America to pursue their medical careers and start a family. Mrs. Arcebido served her community as an ER nurse for over 40 years at Kaiser on Lakeview and other local hospitals. She came to the United States as an exchange nurse in Chicago.
Born in Leyte, Philippines, on Nov. 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Pedro and Maria (Vigal) Esplanada.
She was a communicant of San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills.
Mrs. Arcebido was a fashionista and well known for her lively, fun spirit and zest for life. She loved dancing, singing karaoke with her husband, basketball â especially the L.A. Lakers, bowling, gardening, shopping, gambling and travel. When her children were young, she enjoyed taking the family exploring on local road trips. Once retired, she followed her wanderlust with her friends and relatives around the world to Asia, Europe and Alaska. Wherever she went, she wanted those around her to feel at home and nourished. Everyone adored her delicious cooking.
But, above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces and sisters. She also returned to the Philippines often throughout her life to visit beloved family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Russell; her daughter, Ruth; her daughter Rachelle (Arcebido) Parks and her husband, Randall; her grandchildren Elijah, Mikayla, Carson, Garrett Arcebido and Rowyn Parks; her siblings Herminia Esplanada Coral, Pelagia Esplanada Rabacal and Josefina Esplanada Leona.
She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her siblings Pio Vigal Esplanada, Estrella Esplanada Varona, and Anselmo Vigal Esplanada.
Her loved ones celebrated her life with a Mass of Christian burial at San Antonio Catholic Church. She is at rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress.
