Violet Francis Jefferies

Violet "Vi" Francis Jefferies, 85, was born on December 8, 1930, in Pender, NE. and passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2016 after a long & courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman & Matilda Schroeder as well as her beloved husband of 49 years, Jack Sr. She resided in Glendale, CA. for over 56 years. Vi loved to play golf & was an active member of the Chevy Chase Country Club up until her health declined. She also enjoyed the outdoors & would always give her husband a run for his money when they went fishing together. She spent many of her golden years travelling with Jack Sr. & friends across Canada, Europe, Mexico & the United States. She raised 4 children with love, care & some well deserved discipline along the way. While strong & hard working, she was always there with open arms & a caring heart for anyone who was in need. Vi was especially proud of all her grandchildren, great grandchildren & great, great grandchildren as well as their families. She will be deeply missed but will be forever loved & in the hearts of her family & many friends. She is survived by children Jack Jr. (Amber), Janice (Barry Hoyland), Tom (Kathy) & Robert (Frances); her grandchildren Jack, Tracy (Andy Granger), Kim, Cindy (Kevin Shay), Cheryl (Brandon Zavala), Jacquelyn (Austin Wampler) & Max; her 11 great grandchildren & her 5 great, great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Glendale, California.
