Viola Marrujo

June 18, 1938 — August 21, 2024

Viola Marrujo was born on June 18, 1938 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the only sister along side 3 brothers. Gene Marrujo, David Marrujo and Albert Marrujo, which she was known to keep in line with a broom swat. She was known for her infectious laugh and joyful mood. She could always be found sitting cross legged in her recliner cracking a joke and watching her cowboy shows, The Little Rascals, rock n roll music, mariachi’s or her novellas on the tv.

Viola was a hard-working single mother to 5 children. Peter, Robert, Nena, Anna and Angel. She leaves behind a legacy of 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She dedicated many years helping care for challenged adults at the CMA an adult assisted living home in Cerritos California, where she worked until retirement in 2020. She was baptized in the 1980’s at Praise Chapel in Huntington Park and was always talking about her many blessings she had in her children, grand children and great grandchildren. Her later years she enjoyed relaxing at her home in Lakewood, CA with her beloved chihuahua Cookie.

We will keep her many great “Violaisms” going such as “If they don’t like it lump it” or “Top of the line” or if something was no longer up to standard “They have gone down the hill”. Viola leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, overcoming, perseverance and memories of a woman whose joy was her strength in every season of life. She closed her eyes on earth and will open them in the presence of the Lord and for this we have joy!

Nehemiah 8:10 The Joy of the Lord is your strength.
