Vincent Alan Rouzaud

May 28, 1956 — December 5, 2021

Vincent Alan Rouzaud, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Chino Hills, CA on December 5, 2021, after an aggressive battle with cancer.

Vincent came charging into this life on May 28, 1956, on Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, to Nicandro and Betty Rouzaud, during a Memorial Day visitation trip and never sat still since. He grew up in Hacienda Heights and after graduating from Wilson High School in 1974, he went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Business from University of La Verne.

Vince met his wife Johnette in 1980 while they both worked at Pharmaseal, and they were later wed in October 1981 and had two children, Christopher and Ashley.
Vince dedicated more than three decades of work to the public transit industry, with the last 20 years to Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) serving as the Chief Procurement and Logistics Officer. He played a pivotal role in making RTA what it is today.

From childhood through adulthood, Vince loved family trips to the Colorado River where he enjoyed riding jet-ski's, waterskiing and having a cold beer at the water's edge. In addition to river trips, Vince enjoyed long road trips to see the beauty and sites across the United States. While he made it through 48 of the 50 states, his favorite region was always the southwest. A trip to the southwest wasn't complete without stopping into Death Valley in August trying to experience the hottest day of the year because he "needs to feel the heat". While constantly on the move, Vince also enjoyed slowing down with an annual family vacation to Kauai, Hawaii, where you could often find him on the cliff edge watching the nightly sunset with a glass of Jack Daniels in hand.

A lifelong baseball fan, but more importantly a Dodger fan, Vince was the epitome of a baseball almanac (suppose that was due to many MANY years listening to Vin Scully announce and just years of watching) as he could tell you all about that play that happened when the team was down to its final out and there was a walk-off homerun to win the game….that was Kirk Gibson's walk-off in the 1988 World Series.

When not traveling, Vince was an avid collector and enthusiast of many things, including classic cars, antique radios, antique penny-farthing and Schwinn bicycles, and antique motorbikes – just to name a few. He always looked forward to the Pomona Old Car Swap Meet, but if you wanted to tag along you better expect an early morning wakeup call as "getting there any later than 6am and all the good deals are gone". Every weekend, you could find Vince riding around the neighborhood on a Whizzer, Servi-cycle or Simplex, but that was often followed by him asking for help to canvas the neighborhood streets for some random part that rattled loose and fell off.

Above all else, Vince's favorite weekend activities included knocking out the yard work early (including hosing everything down and driving the water conscious neighbors crazy), spending time in his garage tinkering on and riding his motorbikes, and cooling down with a cold beverage in his backyard pool.

The world didn't just lose a husband, father and friend…the world has lost a best friend, life advisor, education pusher (didn't matter who you were), road tripping/vacationing sidekick, walking encyclopedia for all things classic cars, motorcycles, motorbikes, bicycles, etc., an endless well of random knowledge and just an all-around give you the shirt off his back with a glass of Jack Daniels and a smile if you needed it person.

Vincent leaves behind his loving wife of 40 years, Johnette Rouzaud; his son, Christopher Rouzaud; his daughter, Ashley Rouzaud; his granddaughter, Reese; as well as his sister, Karen Spaulding. He was predeceased earlier this year by his brother Nick Rouzaud, as well as his father and mother.
