Victor was a committed husband, devoted father, eternal brother, benevolent uncle, faithful friend, soldier of Christâ¦Victor Magtalas Taneco passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at the age of 76. After 11 years of enduring end stage renal failure & recent months of declining health, Victor died peacefully in his sleep.
Victor was born in Pulilan, Bulacan, Philippines on August 26, 1944, to father Julio C. Taneco, Sr. and mother Alfonsa Magtalas Taneco. Victor is the oldest of 7 siblings and the only one who was able to migrate to the United States. He graduated from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Accounting Major. He worked 8 years in the accounting field then moved on to work 16 years at AT&T in communications before he retired early at 53 years old.
He was involved with the first FILIPINO ASSOCIATION in the Inland Empire, fostering FILIPINO CULTURE in the community. He was also a devout Catholic and was blessed to have lived his Cursillo in June 1997 in the LA Diocese. He served as an Extraordinary EUCHARISTIC MINISTER for about 10 years at both Our Lady of Mt Carmel and Sacred Heart, was a Rollista & served on the Men's Cursillo Weekend for several years. As part of St Peter & St Paul Filipino choir, he helped form and sing in the very first Filipino Choir at Sacred Heart. He also was a prayer group core member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Montclair for 10 years. In 2014, he later joined Knights of Columbus and became a 4th degree knight.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, by his brother Ernesto M. Taneco, his sister Leonora Taneco Seguenza and his youngest daughter, Claudette Vida Sibal Taneco. He is survived by his wife Corazon Sibal Taneco; oldest daughter, Catherine VST Peralta; grandchildren Giana Claudette Taneco Peralta and Clarissa Giselle Taneco Peralta; his younger brother, Eugene Taneco; half brother Julio Taneco, Jr; half sisters Dr Carina Taneco Martinez and Victoria Taneco Rojas.
Rosary & Cursillo Rite is planned for Friday, January 15, 2021 from 10AM â 10:45AM and Mass from 11-12PM, Eulogies 12-12:20PM at St Peter & St Paul Catholic Church at 9135 Bayan St, Rancho Cucamonga, CA which will also be livestreamed for international & out of state family members and friends and those unable to attend the LIVE services due to the Pandemic. Prayer & Interment will follow at 1PM, Forest Lawn, 21300 Via Verde, Covina, CA.
