Vickie Paulson

Vickie Faith Paulson, age 67 of Alachua, Florida, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

 She was born August 23, 1956, to William (Ernie) and Vera Catherine Hague in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Vickie began her education by attending the University of California, Los Angeles where she achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1979.   She then attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing in 1981. Her career in Nursing continued as she achieved her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1985.  Vickie worked in various positions in Nursing including: medical surgical units, ICU, Emergency Room, Case Management and Utilization Review. 

Vickie was a patient advocate and as an RN worked tirelessly to ensure quality patient care.  She worked throughout the United States as a travel Nurse as well as providing care to our service men and women abroad, in Italy and Germany, for the United States military.

Vickie loved dog rescuing and fostering animals.  You would also find her at the local animal shelter caring for animals with love and care.  She loved flowers and planting vegetables in her garden and was busy creating a beach-like atmosphere in her backyard.  In addition, Vickie loved to travel and had plans to visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina and take a cruise with girlfriends to the Caribbean.  She had a warm loving smile, her eyes so full of happiness, a witty sense of humor. She loved life and lived each day to the fullest.

Vickie is survived by her son, Joshua Eric Paulson of New York and her beloved dog Bella and grand-dog Bentley. Josh was the light of her life and she provided a nurturing life as a single mother supporting his career as an attorney.   Vickie was looking forward to her son getting married to his soulmate Joy Tegtmeyer and starting a family.

Services will be held at the Little Church of the Flowers at 1712 South Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA 91205 on Friday May 3, 2024 at 1:30pm (doors open at 1:00pm).
