Vicki Joy Lang was born on August 11th, 1945, at the Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale California to parents Mike Kreutzer & Cecile Gray Kreutzer. Vicki had two older brothers Charles (Chick) Vandagriff & Harry (Skip) Vandagriff, who were twelve to fourteen years older than her, respectively. Growing up they were known as Chick, Skip & Vick. She was also very close to her step-brother, Jeffrey Gorney.
Vicki was a child actress and performer. She started her career at four years old singing on the “Storybook Hour” radio show. She performed all over Southern California singing & dancing on stage, including singing for the Veterans at Sawtelle. At the age of 10, Vicki worked for Disney and became one of the original Mouseketeers and is featured on the original recording of the show’s theme song. This was not the only recording Vicki made, she performed versions of Fever and These Boots Were Made for Walking.
Vicki also showcased her talents on both the large screen and small, having worked with many stars like Marilyn Monroe and television shows like Wait Until Your Father Gets Home. Vicki even appeared as a stunt driver in the 1960’s cult classic, Faster Pussy Cat! Kill! Kill!
Vicki graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in 1964 and went on to take classes at UCLA and a few other universities throughout her life. Vicki married her high school sweetheart Art Juday. Together they had one daughter, Michelle Joy. It was young love however and not meant to last and the two parted ways. After motherhood, Vicki left her acting career behind to pursue a career with a company called ISI, one of the original Hi-Tech businesses. There she was in charge of setting up all of the accounting systems and team organization and went on to work with several more companies in this capacity.
It was through her new career that Vicki met a man named Jack Lang. He asked her out to hear some Jazz one night & the two fell absolutely in love. They married in 1972 in Big Sur at the Highlands Inn. Through this marriage, Vicki inherited three young boys Steve, Doug &Kent. With her work background, Vicki helped her husband Jack open his business Unitrace. The couple settled in Saratoga, CA., where they raise their four children and built many happy memories. The happy couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2022 and are the proud grandparents to six grandsons (Shelby Lang, Patrick Lang, Michael Lang, Connor Lang, Henry Levis and Charles Levis) and one great-grandchild (Benicio Lang).
Vicki & Jack loved to travel but in Vicki’s own words “Never to Europe”. She loved any place tropical; her favorite places being the Bahamas & the Virgin Islands. Vicki and Jack cherished their friends and loved to travel with them. Vicki also loved cooking and according to her family is the best cook in the world. “Nobody will ever make a tuna, potato, or macaroni salad as good as hers.”
Vicki loved to help others and throughout the years was heavily involved with the organization Al-Anon. She has sponsored many people and was a frequent and popular speaker at meetings. Rumor has it that when she spoke it was standing room only. Vicki Joy left this world peacefully at 2am Tuesday morning, May 6th, 2025, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA, surrounded by family and friends. She will be missed by many.
