Vicki Ann Kimes, of Westminster, CA passed away on August 23, 2024, after a courageous—short battle with lymphoma.
Vicki is survived by her (sisters) Sherri and David Gaede, New Richman, WI, and Cindy Tighe of Garden Grove, CA. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents Frank E. and Laurel Gould of Long Beach, CA., and siblings, Jay Gould, Eugene, OR, Linda Gould Linder, Fort Dodge, IA and Gary Gould, Henderson, NV.
Vicki Ann Kimes was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on April 21, 1944. The family moved to CA when Vicki was 12. Vicki graduated from Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA, and received a trip back to Iowa, where she met Clarence “Al” Albers. Al moved to California in early 1963. Vicki and Al were married on June 15.1963 and had two children, Frank Albers of Westminster, CA, and Kimberly Hitchcock, spouse Henry Hitchcock of Westminster, CA.
Vicki worked throughout her life in the Long Beach area starting with the Penny Saver in 1972, The Long Beach Press-Telegram, and Friedmans Appliance.
Vicki met John J. Kimes in 1991. Vicki and John married in San Pedro, CA on November 27, 1998. John preceded Vicki in death on September 28, 2013. Vicki and John's marriage created a large extended family. Vicki and John hosted many large holiday gatherings and picnics in the park. Vicki and John joined the Corvettes So. Cal. Club, they enjoyed and participated in monthly meetings and club car outings throughout the state.
Vicki was passionate about spending time with her grandchildren and participating in their sporting events (softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer, football) at both the high school and collegiate levels. Vicki enjoyed her monthly trips to Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farms with her grand/great-grandchildren. Vicki has a family legacy of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Vicki was an avid card and Trains player, enjoying daily walking in her tract and visiting the Hawaiian Islands and the beaches in Huntington Beach.
