Vesta Mildred Drane

Vesta Mildred Drane, 93, born on June 3, 1923 in Farmington, Missouri, passed away June 22, 2016. She resided in Westlake Village, California, at the time of her passing. She grew up in Columbia , Missouri and graduated from Hickman High School.
Millie married her high school sweetheart , Davis Clark Drane on February 3,1945.They spent a long happy life raising there two daughters , Mary and Susan in Sunland- Tujunga.
She and her husband were members of La Canada Country Club where she was an avid golfer. She was active in the YMCA, Tierra del Sol, Sunland Baptist Church, Womens Club and Verdugo Hills Hospital.
She loved spending time with her friends, family and the community.
She is survived by her daughter ,Susan N. Carpenter; her son in law David K. Carpenter and Joseph L. Matza; Grandchildren,Tia Didden, Daria Davendorf and Clark Carpenter;and six Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Clark Drane; her parents William A. and Margaret Janssen; her brothers , Jack and Donald Janssen and her daughter,Mary M. Matza.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California.
The service is to be held in Church of the Hills on Friday July 1,2016 at 12:30 pm, followed by a short graveside ceremony.
Purple was Mildred's favorite color. In her honor wear a touch of purple on July 1,.2016.
