Valente S. Linsey passed away surrounded by loved ones Friday, July 12, 2019 in Santa Clarita, California.
Valente was born May 22, 1951 in Surigao del Sur, Philippines to Pablo and Catalina Linsey. He graduated with honors from Adamson University in Manila before working as a chemist and formulating packaging glue, subsequently founding a company to bring the product to market with his siblings. He immigrated to the United States in 1985 and met his beautiful bride and wife Amelia S. Tantoy; they married at the courthouse in July 1986 and celebrated their marriage with a Church wedding in October 1986.
Valente proudly ensured water quality for the City of Los Angeles as a chemical engineer for three decades until his retirement in 2013. Apart from his career, Valente enjoyed singing, watching movies, traveling, and photographing memories. Above all, he loved spending time with his loved ones and mentoring the next generation of family members.
Valente is survived by his wife, Amelia Linsey; daughter, Casey Wells and son-in-law Travis Wells; two grandsons, Calvin Wells and Henry Wells; brothers Benjamin (Susan) Linsey, Lowell (Charito) Linsey, and Hermes Linsey; sister Fe Linsey Gerwat; nieces Louree (Kresimir) Sedak-Bencic, Sheila (Marc) Launtz, Abigail (Christian) Rimalos, Charilou (Rafael) Salamat, and Lori Linsey; nephews Dennis (Doreen) Linsey, Paul Benjamin Linsey, and Daniel Linsey; grand-nieces Olivia Linsey, Sofia Linsey, Sarabella Sedak-Bencic, Tamara Sedak-Bencic, Kristen Linsey, and Aurora Linsey; grand-nephews Aleck Sedak-Bencic and Micah Linsey. Valente was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Oliver Linsey, and older sister Aida Linsey.
A funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 20 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 143 N. 5th Street, Burbank, CA 91501. The burial will follow immediately after at Forest Lawn, 1712 S Glendale Ave, Glendale, CA 91205. Family and friends may call during the viewing from 3:00 until 9:00 PM, Friday, July 19 at Forest Lawn Glendale.
