Vahe Amirkhanian

Vahe Amirkhanian was born in Tehran, Iran on September 2, 1941 to parents Hovsep and Knar Amirkhanian. He was later joined by his younger brother, Armen.
Vahe began his education at Kushesh Davitian School in Tehran. After graduating from High School, he attended the American University of Beirut, where he expressed an interest in Global Logistics.
His interest in shipping and transportation opened doors for him at Levant Express, Pers Express and Sea Clipper Shipping. Working at these various companies allowed Vahe to travel to different countries in Europe where he met and conducted business with leaders in the shipping industry.
After a successful career in Iran, Vahe moved to the United States with his family in 1985.
When he settled in to new life in Glendale, Ca Vahe soon after began working for Blue Cross in insurance claims. For the next 29 years, he worked and provided for his family until his retirement in 2014. Upon retiring, he took to his role as proud grandpa to his three grandchildren.
Vahe enjoyed retirement with his family and friends until he succumbed to short-term illness. Within four months of his lung cancer diagnosis, he passed away on September 29, leaving behind his wife of 47 years, Seda; brother Armen; his son Ara and daughter-in-law Ani; daughter Ani and son- in-law, Arthur and three grandchildren Vahe, Nareck and Narineh.
