Ursula (Sue) Duzansky, 90, born on August 1, 1934, in Chicago , IL passed away peacefully in her sleep in her Memory Care apartment at Atria Rancho Mirage, CA on October 4, 2024. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA. Sue was a loving mother, wife, sister, and daughter. She is survived by her daughter Gail (Lee) Callaway of Hagerstown, MD, daughter-in-law Cheryl Brown of Worthington, OH, and stepsons Ted (Ann) Duzansky of Crestview, FL and William Duzansky of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Stella Chojnowski, her brother Eugene Chojnowski, her son Gary Brown, and her husband Stephen Duzansky.
Sue worked as the keypunch supervisor at Crane Packing Co in Morton Grove, IL, and then owned a Merry Maids cleaning business in Palm Desert, CA with her husband Steve.
Her hobbies and interests included golf (she got a hole-in-one!), all Chicago sports teams (she thankfully experienced a Chicago Cubs World Series championship in 2016), knitting (and supporting Project Linus and other charities), Frank Sinatra, and attending daily Catholic mass. She truly gave of her time, talent, and treasures in so many aspects of her life. Her strong faith carried her through the trials and tribulations she endured in her life; surviving breast cancer being just one of many.
The family thanks Acacia Hospice, Honey Beas, and Atria Rancho Mirage for their excellent care. Her life was better in her final years, months, and especially days because of these caregivers.
A graveside service will be held at Desert Memorial Park, 31-705 Da Vall Dr, Cathedral City, CA on Thursday October 17, 2024 at 10:30 am. Per her wishes, she will be buried next to her husband Stephen Duzansky.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice organizations, for without these entities, Sue's life would not have been as fulfilling in her final time here on earth.
