Trinidad Chacon, 79, was born to Carmen Garcia and Manuel Chacon on March 30, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona; he passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Angelina Chacon of Thermal, and four children and their spouses: Roxanne and Braddy Ries of La Quinta, Christopher Chacon and Jenny Viguerie of Mission Viejo, Gabriel and Elizabeth Chacon of West Covina, and Angela Chacon Strauss and Mark Strauss of La Quinta, along with eight grandchildren and his two sisters and their husbands, Rosa Chacon and Edward Irwin of Palm Desert and Jessie and Pedro De La Cruz of Cathedral City.

He possessed an unrelenting work ethic that was apparent in all he did. He valiantly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from 1963-1967, being trained at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and serving in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was the epitome of strength, commitment, and sacrifice not only for his country, but in his job and for his family. He retired after forty years in the construction industry where he worked as a Superintendent and mentored a multitude of young men who credit him with significantly impacting their current-day success. In addition, he was a father figure to many, including his beloved nephews.

Trinidad's greatest accomplishment was his enduring marriage and awe-inspiring love that he shared with his beautiful wife and children. He was the patriarch of the family who offered invaluable advice. His guidance and encouragement played a pivotal role in his children's success. He was a caring father, devoted brother, staunch protector, the first to lend a helping hand, and always desired the best for his loved ones.

Trinidad put family first, valued education, possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, and was a man of faith who attended Catholic Mass regularly. His zest for travel led him and his wife to various places including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, and various U.S. states. He enjoyed quality time spent with his family, early morning walks, playing blackjack, attending boxing matches, driving around in his golf cart visiting friends, taking impromptu trips, playing Mariachi music, and watching Western movies.

Trinidad lived a full, meaningful life and he will be greatly missed. His legacy will continue on through the lives of his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, and friends who hold him close to their hearts and cherish the memories shared. In his honor, a memorial service will be held on July 31, 2024 at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Cathedral City at 5 pm. On August 1, 2024, a Catholic Mass will be held at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in La Quinta, after which he will be put to rest.
