TOMASA SIAPNO TOPINO
Tomasa S. Topino, age 84, passed away peacefully on 19 July 2012, surrounded by her family at her home in Perris, California. She was born in New York City, New York to Gregorio Siapno and Virginia Maliberan on 28 October 1927. She was the 2nd of 3 siblings, Lillian (deceased) and Mariano.
Nanay Masing, as she was lovingly called, grew up during the depression and World War II. She valued her faith and family above all else. The mother of 5, was a very hardworking wife who did the ordinary things the best she can. She supported her parents' business as a teenager and sacrificed her education to help them during the war years in the Philippines.
Tomasa loved taking care of her grandchildren, cooking for them and even singing them lullabies. She also enjoyed reading and telling stories.
She is survived by her children; Evangeline, Roberto, Edgar, Henry, stepdaughters Lilly and Lydia and her grandchildren; Samantha, Mark, Natalee, Matthew, Bobby, Eric, Joseph and Ricky and great-grandchildren; Gabreela, Keith, Klyde, and Kevin Josh. She was preceded in death by her husband, Teofilo, sister; Lillian and son; Jaime.
A celebration memorial mass will be held at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church on July 23rd at 8:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Irenaeus Church in Cypress, California.
Funeral service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, California on July 27, 2012 at 10:30 am.
