Tip Fei Low, born on December 14, 1928, in LongDu, Zhongshan, China, peacefully passed away on March 9, 2026, in Monterey Park, California, at the age of 97.
Tip Fei met her beloved late husband, Gee Choy Low, in Zhongshan. They later moved to Hong Kong to pursue better opportunities, freedom and a bright future for their family. Her difficult childhood instilled in her the perseverance, strength and gratitude that defined her life.
During the early years of her marriage, Tip Fei showed remarkable strength and devotion. While her husband worked overseas to support the family, she raised their four children largely on her own. Though the money Gee Choy earned was often barely enough to cover basic living expenses, Tip Fei carefully managed the family and made sure that all of their children were well cared for, fed, and educated. Through her determination and sacrifice, Tip Fei created a warm and loving home for her family.
Those who know Tip Fei will remember her warmth, resilience, and deep devotion to her family. Tip Fei touched the lives of many through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her.
Throughout her lifetime, Tip Fei cherished the simple joys that brought her closer to those she loved most. Whether that be challenging her grandchildren and children with games of Chinese checker and Mahjong, or having a meal with the family. These moments reflected the deep bonds she nurtured and the legacy of connection and affection she leaves behind.
Tip Fei’s love for life extended beyond her family. In Hong Kong she was known for her early morning hikes followed by her Luk Tung Kuen practice, greeting each day with energy and appreciation for the world around her. She also had a great love for food. Some of her favorite dishes include squab, lobster, suckling pig, wonton noodle soup, and dim sum—especially chicken feet.
Tip Fei is survived by her devoted family who love her dearly: her children Theresa and her husband Ray; Regina and her husband Patrick, Ambrose and his wife Karen, and Franky and his wife Michelle; her grandchildren Ilene, Jonathan and his fiance Maria, Leona, Leo, Karina and her husband William, Amber and Brian; her great-grandchildren Hunter and Audrey; her brother Dennis Lau and his wife So-Ying.
Tip Fei leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will continue to inspire her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit remains alive and will be treasured forever through everyone’s memories of her.
Tip Fei will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
