In Loving Memory of Marie Garnett
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Garnett, a woman whose grace, intelligence, and unwavering determination touched the lives of all who knew her.
Vu thi Tinh, aka Marie Garnett was born on February 20, 1937 in Hue, Vietnam and lived a remarkable life defined by resilience, excellence and elegance. At age 8, she became an orphan and left Vietnam to France at age 10 to live with her uncle, Tong Viet Triem. She lived in Marseilles for 6 years before coming back to Vietnam. A gifted educator, Marie Garnett inspired her students as a French teacher. Her passion for language and her dedication to her craft led to an extraordinary achievement: 98% of her students passed under her guidance—a testament to her skill, patience, and belief in the potential of every learner.
Her talents extended far beyond the classroom. She excelled in everything she undertook. She choreographed a students’ dance at the Santa Isabelle College at Manila, Philippines and brought rave reviews from all the parents
In the world of fine jewelry, she was a star. As a top-performing salesperson at Sakowitz and Saks Fifth Avenue, she dazzled not only with her impeccable taste but with her ability to connect deeply with clients. Her knowledge of jewelry was encyclopedic, but it was her warmth and sincerity that made her unforgettable.
She brought that same magic to her own jewelry creation. She was an amazing person and brought happiness to everyone she met, from her vendors to her customers to her co-workers.
Customers were drawn not just to her exquisite pieces, but to her radiant personality. She had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued—a rare quality that made her beloved by all who crossed her path.
She always dressed with style and elegance. Clothes were her way of showing who she was, and she did it beautifully. No matter where she was—teaching, shopping, or spending time with family—she carried herself with grace and fashion that made people stop and admire her.
Marie Garnett was more than her accomplishments. She was a devoted wife, mother, grand mother, great grand mother, a loyal friend, and a woman of quiet strength, resilience and elegance. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she uplifted, the beauty she shared, and the fashion she inspired.
On September 13, 2025, Marie passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Cerritos, California surrounded by family and love. As we bid farewell to Marie, let us remember the love, kindness, and joy she brought into our lives. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, and her legacy will continue to inspire us. May we find comfort in the cherished moments we shared and the knowledge that her spirit lives on in each of us. Rest in peace, dear Marie. You will be deeply missed and always remembered with love.
