Timothy Greene

September 20, 1958 — January 14, 2020

Timothy "Timmy" Greene Sr. was born to the union of Ernestine and Donald Greene Sr. on September 20, 1958 in Covington, KY. He was the oldest of 3, and took his role of big brother to Charrisse and Donald Jr seriously. At the early age of 7, he relocated with his family to California, where he received his education throughout Los Angeles Unified School District, and attended Compton College. Timmy was a dedicated entrepreneur; a man of many talents. He was a jack-of-all-trades, from salesman (on his ice cream truck), carpenter (helping repair homes), DJ (at local clubs and parties), firefighter (fighting fires in Susanville) and fashion design (making political statements with his Black Power shirts and fist raised high). Beyond jobs, Timmy was a true servant leader in his community, such as providing transportation for the elderly to buy groceries, to doctor's appointments, and he was a father-figure to many neighborhood youth.
.
.
He was well known and loved by all. Everyone knew Timmy and he knew everyone. His smile and laughter filled the room everywhere he went. He was the life of the party. He had a nickname for everyone (insert your nickname here ____________). His nickname to many was "Box Bo."
.
.
As a teen, he met his young love Donna Johnson and to this relationship, Reshona and Timmesha were born. Later he moved to Compton, where he met Delores Cooper. Together they joined and were baptised at Belmont Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Bridgette. In 1979, Timmy & Dee Dee became the first couple married at Belmont by Pastor Bridgette and to this union, 5 children were born: LaQuiesha, Timothy Jr., Beatrina, Timneisha, and Deneisha. Later he met, Eddie and his youngest son, Jermia was born. He was a loving, devoted father that used his courage, knowledge, humor, and love of music to teach his children life lessons, street smarts, how to navigate and rise above the streets..
.
Timmy was preceded in death by his father, Donald Greene Sr., his daughter Timmesha, & his granddaughter, Dominique. He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy: his mother, Ernestine; his only sister Charrisse (Alvin Jr.); his brothers Donald Jr, Niguel, Dougie; his 7 children Reshona (Earl), LaQuiesha (Dennis), Timothy (Ajanet), Beatrina (Andrew), Timneisha (Jayia), Deneisha (Dajuan), Jermia & his siblings Jayneisha & Jayvontaye; his 12 grandchildren: James "Ronnie," Dymond, Ariel, Ariona, Jeremiah, Ariyah, Eian, Terrence, Devyne, Tajay, Denney, his namesake, Timothy III; and a host of family & friends.
