Thomas Alex Leysack

Thomas Alex Leysack, 60, was born on September 27, 1956, in Los Angeles, California. He passed away suddenly on December 31, 2016. He resided in Buena Park, California, at the time of his passing. Tom's childhood was spent in Villa Park, California, where he and his siblings graduated from Villa Park High School. He worked as a Landscaper Supervisor for the past 40 years in the Orange County area.

Tom met the love of his life, Cathee Gruwell, in 1987 at a mutual friend's wedding. He asked her to dance and she said no. Tom was persistent and soon enough, Cathee fell for Tom's charm, his desire to always help family and friends, and their mutual love of cairn terriers. They have been spent the last 29 years together and been inseparable ever since that wedding.

Tom was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his brother Bob and nephew Justin, and the occasional garage sale bargain hunting with his wife and family friends. He was known for his famous BBQ ribs and having the best fourth of July food and fireworks.

He is survived by his wife, Cathee Gruwell-Leysack, his sister Geri Leysack, his brother Bob Leysack, his nephew, Justin Leysack and Brandon Leysack, 1 great nephew, and 1 great niece. Viewing for the family will be held on Friday, January 13th, from 5pm to 9pm, at Forest Lawn, Cypress (4471 Lincoln Ave, Cypress, CA 90630). Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14th, at 12pm at Knott Ave Christian Church (315 S Knott Ave, Anaheim, CA 92804).
