Theodore Lee "Ted" Wingert, age 82, of Seal Beach, California, passed away peacefully Sunday night, July 1, 2018. He was born March 6, 1936 to Lee J. and Hilda M. (Bratz) Wingert in Oakland County, Michigan, and was the youngest of three children.

Ted served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961 as a Guidance Systems Mechanic and Electronics Technician and was a proud United States Veteran. Following his service, he applied these skills and was a respected electronics technician for most of his career. Ted's job brought him from Michigan to California in 1973 where he raised his family and dedicated much of his life to serving God and helping others. He was an active member of Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos, California, since its inception in the 1980s. In his spare time, Ted was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ted is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise (Frost) Wingert; along with three children; Edward Wingert (Vicki) of Noblesville, Indiana, James Wingert (Debbie) of Anaheim, California, and Kristina Heffernan of Chesterfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brett Warfield, Heather Warfield and Karl Wingert; and, many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his older sisters Marilyn Isles and Shirley Northey.

Memorial services for Ted Wingert will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Oakview Cemetery on 1032 North Main Street, Royal Oak, Michigan, 48067. Burial with Military Honors will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Cottonwood Church, 4505 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos, California, 90720.
