Thelma Lee Towns 63, born on September 13,1949, in Whitewood, Kentucky, passed away June 28, 2013. She resided in Altadena, California, at the time of her passing.
Thelma Lee Towns born to Mayme B.Brown-Taylor and Charles R. Taylor on September 13,1949, in Whitewood,Kentucky. At a young age she accepted Christ and attended Good News Church(Pasadena,Ca). Later,she became a faithful member of New Revelation M.B. Church(Pasadena,ca). At New Revelation she sung in the Cathedral Choir and loved to share the word with her church family. In 1967, she graduated from John Muir H.S.(Pasadena, Ca). From high school,she was gainfully employed. She worked for 15 years at Bank of America (Pasadena, Ca). And until her calling she worked 15 years at Anderson & Murison (Los Angeles, Ca) where they treated her as family.
Thelma is survived by her husband King David Towns. They married March, 27,1981. There children Andre D. Brooks Sr. and Charles R. Towns. And the other children whom she provided for and raised.
She leaves behind, one granddaughter Mareika Brooks-Mims(Las Vegas,Nv). Four grandsons Andre Brooks Jr.(Amber)(San Bernardino,Ca), Markis Brooks(Altadena,Ca), Carlos Towns and Charles R. Towns Jr.(Pasadena, Ca). One great granddaughter Zayonie Roberson(Las Vegas,Nv). One great grandson Imani Brooks(San Bernardino, Ca).
Thelma Lee also leaves behind, 3 sisters Alma Duncan(Lawrence)(Altadena,Ca), Betty Taylor(San Diego, Ca), & Juanita Simpson(Pasadena,Ca). Her 2 brothers Stephen Taylor (Indianapolis,Id)& Matthew Simpson (Lancaster, Ca). Auntie Thelma otherwise know as "TT" will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews near and far, who considered her a second mother, or just an awesome auntie when needing guidance, encouragement & laughter.
Thelma was the life of gatherings when her and all her cousins, aunties, uncles and friends came together to celebrate or just have a good time.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents Mayme and Charles Taylor, daughter Ceoma Towns, grandson Emmitt Dijonette, and sister Patricia Taylor.
